From Sep. 19, 2015 to Sep.20, 2015, the first South Extracorporeal Circulation Summit Forum was held inKewei Institute. This forum mainly focused on the current hot topics inextracorporeal circulation with “looking back at history and looking forward to the future” as the theme. The main subjects included Review on the History of Extracorporeal Circulation, History and Future of Extracorporeal Circulation,Feasibility of Overall Package Design, Monitoring of Renal Blood Flow during Extracorporeal Circulation, Extracorporeal Circulation Processing of Microsurgery, Centrifugal Pump Type Ventricular Assisted Equipment and Is Arterial Microembolus Filter Needed for Extracorporeal Circulation etc. The objectives were to analyze the tendency of the current extracorpoeral circulation, and look into the tendency and prospect of future extracorporeal circulation technology and extracorporeal circulation product development. Theconference also reviewed the development history of national extracorpoeral circulation and the development history of Guandong provincial extracorporeal circulation, and explored the history and culture of rich extracorporeal circulation in Guangdong. This forum invited over 20 famous experts all over China and over 120 experts in extracorporeal circulation and extracorporeal circulation perfusionists all over Guangdong Province, and a total of over 150 people attended the forum.

During the conference, Retrospective Show on Extracorporeal Circulation History sponsored by the Special Committee and Co-organized by Shanghai MicroPort Kewei Company was put on display during thesame period after one-year preparation. The Retrospective Show displays the development process of national and Guangdong Provincial extracorporeal circulation for the past half a century through written records, images andmaterial objects. After the show, all attendants have a more comprehensive knowledge on the development of extracorporeal circulation and feel confident onthe development of extracorporeal circulation.
